Fifteen Sweet Months

Sweet Girl,

You are fifteen months old.

Your first 12 months flew by, but the last three have snuck past me. If I close my eyes, I swear we are still planning your first birthday. My heart is heavy as I write this because I realize that you are no longer an infant. You are still a baby and will always be my baby, but the toddler years are here.

You walk and talk and sometimes it amazes Daddy so much that he exlaims, "She is just like a real person now!" You love baby dolls, especially the doll you lovingly call "Beebee". Her light up yellow face creeps Mama and Daddy out, but you tote her around the house and cry when you forget her.

You chase our dog around yelling "Lucy! Lucy!" and run back to us belly laughing. You tell her to "sit" and "go" and offer her bites of your snacks.

You will finally drink cow's milk, but Mama's milk is still your favorite. If I don't notice you signing, you will frantically sign every sign you know, screaming "nurse nurse" until I understand. Your favorite foods are eggs, chicken, and yogurt. You already have quite the little sweet tooth and somehow know where Grandma keeps the cookies (though she swears she doesn't give them to you).

Speaking of teeth, you currently have five. The bottom two came in during our big vacation to Fort Lauderdale, FL when you were 10 months. Sometime after your birthday, your top "fang" tooth came in. A few weeks ago, your front tooth slid in next to it and Daddy found a molar on the bottom. Right now you have a crooked little grin with no teeth on the top right.

You love it when Daddy plays hide and seek with you. You laugh until you can't stand when he slides on the kitchen floor. You won't give him kisses when he comes home anymore and it makes him sad, but I know you are just teasing :)

We love to read books together. You ask me to sing The Itsy Bitsy Spider and Two Little Dickie Birds over and over again. You started taking the plug out in the tub and putting it back in again, so Mama took out your wood puzzles. You love them!

You still sit in your bouncy seat, but not as often. You like pillows and stuffed animals on the floor and you roll around on top of them. Mama puts on Mickey Mouse or Yo Gabba Gabba when she needs to get something done and you are mesmorized by the singing. You love music and dance when you hear it. Seeing you shake your bottom in the bathtub is hysterical.

We really wish you would sleep. You still get up a few times a night and want to come in our bed. You kick me until you fall back asleep, then I put you back in your crib a few feet away. Mama is tired! It is hard to complain when you are such a sweet girl.

I love you so much,
Mama
